Utility Worker

The City of Minatare is currently accepting applications for the position of Utility Worker. This position is full-time, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am -5:00 pm and Fridays from 7:30 am – 11:30 a.m. There is a one-hour lunch break and on-call every other weekend. We are looking for an individual to perform all operations including water, sewer, streets, parks and alleys. This person would need to be familiar with the operation and maintenance of equipment and would perform meter reading and other general utility maintenance. Other duties include sweeping, mowing, patching of streets, grading and graveling of alleys and side roads, snow removal, sign installation, and general construction projects. Able to perform other duties as assigned. Applicator’s and Grade 4 Water Operator’s Licenses are necessary within six months or as soon as possible after the date of hire. Some overtime may be required during snow events or other emergencies.

Minimum requirements: High school graduate or GED with the ability to perform skilled labor and/or maintenance as demonstrated by previous work experience. Must be able to work well with the public and coworkers. Medium to heavy equipment experience preferred. Hourly pay $18 to $21 depending on experience. Benefits are included.
