The High Containment Biosafety Specialist will participate in a comprehensive university-wide biosafety program to fulfill the duties as described in the NIH Guidelines, Federal Select Agent Program, US Government Policy for Oversight of Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) and Pathogens with Enhanced Pandemic Potential (PEPP), and in the UNMC/UNO Institutional Biosafety Committee Scope of Responsibilities in high containment facilities.This position will involve a 1.0 FTE of an employeeâ??s position at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). This individual will assist the Biosafety Officer in providing biosafety and biosecurity oversight and guidance for all UNMC research activities involving high containment.Overall, coordination of the Biosafety Program is done through the Environmental Health and Safety Office.
