Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

Location: Near Denver, CO

1 HR and 30 min from downtown Denver
Duration: ASAP 3 -6 Months
Reason for coverage: FTE open, due to provider absence
Schedule: 24hr call and call back
Shift: Call
Patient volume: 250 deliveries per year

40-50 pediatric admissions per year, including through ED and direct admission. Initial resuscitation/management for all high-risk deliveries performed at Hospital (unplanned C/S, fetal distress, preterm).

Scope: Ped Hospitalist

Responsibilities

• Initial resuscitation/management for all high-risk deliveries performed at Hospital (unplanned C/S, fetal distress, preterm)
• Ongoing management of newborns
• Management of pediatric admissions for bread-and-butter conditions within facility level of care
• Consultation with ED providers regarding appropriate level of care/transfer
• Response time to the hospital in 30 minutes or less if requested

Of Note: Providers at local clinic will cover their patients during the days but will sign out for nocturnal coverage and occasionally for weekend coverage.

Common Admissions:

• Nursery
• Pediatric Floor
• ICU Ages 15-kg or more(no vent management for this age group)

EMR: Epic
Group/support: Full support staff
Requirements (boards, license): Active Colorado license highly preferred, IMLC with LOQ in hand can be considered, board cert, clean background in order to issue temp privileges
